Question 1

Which One Has the Best Customer Support?

The answer to this question will depend on what you are looking for in a Quickbooks comparison. If customer support is your main concern then Online Payroll is your answer. Its support is available 24/7 and you can talk to a representative in your native language, whichever that may be. Online Payroll is also very helpful if you need technical assistance.

If you want the best product then the choice is clear. Quickbooks is the leading cloud accounting solution of choice for small businesses. It’s used by over 80% of small businesses and has a reputation for being very easy to use. Quickbooks Online has a one-click service, which lets you deal with one bill at a time, make payments, and download all your bank statements. With Quickbooks, you can quickly send invoices, create estimates, and create reports. All you need to do is plug numbers in rather than having to worry about formatting, manual handling, labor laws, and payroll. Since Quickbooks is based on a hosted model, it removes a lot of the hassles associated with maintaining a PC-based accounting program.

Quickbooks online is designed for businesses with up to 10 employees. Quickbooks Premier is designed for businesses that have between 11 and 100 employees. With quickbooks online, you get integrated online banking and can download your bank statements.

How many users (not including an external accountant) will need to access the company books?

If you’re in the occasional accountant mode, QuickBooks Online is great, but if you’ll be dealing with the books on a daily basis, you might consider QuickBooks Desktop.

QuickBooks Desktop for Mac allows you to download a company’s books to a desktop or notebook computer. This level of access is great if you’re using QuickBooks as an accountant or as a company’s bookkeeper.

Generally, this is how the QuickBooks Online/Desktop free and paid versions compare. But you’ll want to decide for yourself which set up works best for you.

Question 2

What QuickBooks version do you currently use?

Do you want to either manage unpaid bills or track employee time?

Don’t make the wrong choice between QuickBooks Online and the desktop version of QuickBooks.

QuickBooks online is the best web-based accounting software in the market. But Quickbooks desktop is an easy-to-use accounting software that is known for its simplicity. So which one is really better?

Here are the pros and cons of QuickBooks online and QuickBooks desktop accounting software.

QuickBooks Online’s Pros:

QuickBooks online is an online accounting software with a user-friendly, beautiful user interface. It is also available as an app for Android and iOS users.

It is a fast accounting software. With QuickBooks online, you can log in, record transactions, and prepare reports in a matter of minutes.

It offers many different types of accounting features from tracking sources and tracking expenses to purchasing invoices and invoicing clients.

QuickBooks online comes with a number of built-in tools to help you manage your day-to-day processes and also help you save time.

It’s a flexible solution. QuickBooks online has different industry-specific functions for different industries. For example, if you are a retail business, you can import inventory and sales data from your retail POS system. And if you are an accounting firm, you can easily manage your clients’ files and overdue accounts.

Question 3

Form 1099-G vs. Form 1099-INT

After all said and done I chose Quickbooks and because I am a small business owner I truly love, appreciate and utilize the system to its fullest. I have used my tax forms for the year that way.

This is the version I have used for years, it’s the most talked about online and still the one I choose to use.

One of the things I do like about Quickbooks is how it handles Payroll but I would have to say that with Quickbooks Online it’s even easier to keep payroll up to date using the cloud services instead of on your computer. This software is the version that most of us use at home with our home servers.

Another great thing, Quickbooks Online can be used from your Android or iPhone, I have used the iPhone application when I had a iPhone but I have used the Android version of the Quickbooks on my LG phone.

Quickbooks Online has built in payroll for your employees along with an excellent benefit system that can be used to manage employee’s hours, their time in higher tax classifications and view reports on how the money was spent.

Quickbooks also has in built inventory tracking and a built in calculator with the ability to run through your business expenses by division cost, profit margin, etc.

Do you want to either track inventory or project profitability?

Do you need a small business accounting program, or do you prefer to have a business suite?

TagFree

Tagfree is a tag management software that works with QuickBooks in order to manage your inventory easily. It helps you keep track of the costs and profits of your collection.

How To Use It?

Start off by setting up tag names for products. This is very easy as you just have to set up vendors.

Tagfree records every transaction that happens to your inventory, where you can keep track of what you have sold, what you have bought, the price you sold it for, the profit that you made off each transaction, and the price of the goods at the time they were bought.

CostAhead

This software is great if you are looking for a large business software. CostAhead manages many areas of the business. It has great scanning tools and reports.

It also has the option for users to work in their own way. This software is not designed to add up a specific stream of profit, instead it is designed so you can work on areas of the business that seem important to you.

AccurateSoft

If you are struggling with a large number of costs, then the AccurateSoft software is probably right for you. AccurateSoft can track 1000s of transactions. It also has many other features, including high exchange rates and fixed prices.

Question 4

QuickBooks Online vs QuickBooks Premier vs QuickBooks Enterprise vs QuickBooks Payroll vs QuickBooks Payments – Know the Advantages and Disadvantages

QuickBooks Online Cloud Account – This can only be used by individual users, who are asked to create an account and provide their details within a day of installation. Data can be accessed by multiple family members in the same account. Making bills and payments on customers is possible within a day of installation. You can import working invoices for multiple businesses from QuickBooks versions 2013 and later versions.

QuickBooks Premier – Designed for freelancers and small businesses to meet the needs of a small business owner in running a business and managing its finances. This can be used by multiple users with a licensing agreement, who can provide and share their data. Data can be accessed by multiple family members in the same business.

QuickBooks Enterprise – Intended for larger businesses that don’t want a cloud-based setup. QuickBooks Enterprise can be accessed by multiple users with a licensing agreement. Working invoices can be drawn up for multiple businesses from QuickBooks version 2013 and later versions. Data can be accessed by multiple family members in the same business.

QuickBooks Payroll – Designed for large businesses in need of more complicated payroll related features, accounting and bookkeeping tasks. Data can be accessed by multiple users with a licensing agreement from QuickBooks version 2013 and later versions.

How many employees do you have?

Not all QuickBooks Online customers have the same set-up. The main reason is that the QuickBooks Online account fees change depending on the number of employees.

If you have a single employee, QuickBooks Online is going to get you the most bang for your buck. However, if you need to see lots of employee data – such as payroll, time sheet, or shift reporting – we recommend you choose QuickBooks Desktop.

Another way to select a solution is to consider how many receipts you issue as a part of your business operations. If you have staff or a capital expense person, then you can use QuickBooks Online. If you aren’t issuing receipts often enough to justify the cost, then we recommend you stick with QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have a business that sells products online or you have an e-commerce website, then we’ll need to talk about inventory. QuickBooks Online can easily handle inventory if you sell in a small scope with multiple geographical locations. QuickBooks Online is better for businesses that have a low number of SKUs. The inventory management feature within QuickBooks Online is way below the standard the average company will use. As you increase the number of SKUs or your geographic locations, we recommend you switch to QuickBooks Desktop.

QuickBooks Simple Start vs Essentials at a Glance

If you’re just starting out, you’re probably going to need a few transactions. Fortunately, QuickBooks offers two of the simplest versions of QuickBooks to make that process simple: QuickBooks Simple Start and QuickBooks Essentials. Here’s a quick comparison of their key features and what you can expect to save.

QuickBooks Simple Start

For this one, you’ll be limited to 15 transactions per month, compared to the unlimited number of transactions on QuickBooks Essentials. You’ll also need to wait before using QuickBooks Simple Start after you make changes to the reports, and you won’t be able to make in-line payments.

If this sounds like a limited QuickBooks experience, that’s because it is. If you go with QuickBooks Simple Start, you’ll need to use the free cloud-based desktop software to make the payments and reconcile your bank account.

QuickBooks Essentials

With the QuickBooks Essentials, you’ll be able to make unlimited transactions and use the printer to print checks for your business. The biggest downside is that it’s not available on the cloud-based, mobile and web-connected QuickBooks Online…yet.

QuickBooks Essentials vs QuickBooks Plus

Vs QuickBooks Premier: “Which is right for me?”

QuickBooks has many options for setting up and running your small business. It is important to understand the differences between the different versions before deciding on which one is right for your business.

If you’ve got a small business or are just starting out in business, or if you want a do-it-yourself approach to managing your bookkeeping, QuickBooks Essentials is a great choice.

QuickBooks Essentials is ideal for businesses that have fewer than 5 employees and one proprietor who’s responsible for all business transactions.

QuickBooks Essentials comes packaged in a very attractively priced package designed to get you up and running quickly and with the least amount of effort. It’s a great product for the start-up entrepreneur.

QuickBooks Essentials makes it easy to take a “one-business-for-one-account-for-one-accountant” approach to running your business. It’s ideal for the owner who handles the financial aspects of their business while the bookkeeper performs the administrative tasks, such as employee payroll, accounts receivable, and sales taxes. This option is used by many small businesses just starting out with a single employee and the owner handling the financial aspects.

QuickBooks Essentials vs Plus at a Glance

The difference between QuickBooks Essentials and QuickBooks Plus is that the latter is recommended for businesses with 10 employees or more and features 25% more functionality.

For example, QuickBooks Essentials offers a QuickBooks payroll service, while QuickBooks Plus gives you everything from QuickBooks payroll service to online invoicing.

QuickBooks Essentials is also pretty purpose-built for small businesses; a number of industry-specific features that often get overlooked in larger businesses. For example, QuickBooks Essentials offers a snap-in for managing complex structures and has pre-built reports and forms to make life easier.

This quick comparison highlights a few of the most important features of both versions of QuickBooks, but it’s certainly not comprehensive. To really know which version will best suit your needs, we recommend asking your QuickBooks consultant to talk things over with you.

Several factors go into choosing the right QuickBooks version for you and your company, such as what kind of business it is, if it will be client engaged, if you need the ability to design/print invoices, track and invoice time. Each of the QuickBooks online and web versions also offers many unique features aimed at specific industries to help those companies be more efficent and profitable.

Below we explain the differences between the versions as much as possible:

Edition v. Hosted QuickBooks Desktop

The two products most people think about are QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.

These two types of QuickBooks cover the most common accounting needs for small businesses, so it’s a good place to start your accounting research. However, there are a number of differences between the two products that you should consider before deciding which is right for you.

QuickBooks Online is online-based and available through any web browser. A web browser is installed and used when the computer is turned on, so Internet access is required.

This can be a huge advantage for busy entrepreneurs who have limited time to spend creating and typing long journal entries. Hosted QuickBooks Desktop goes much further than QuickBooks Online, because you can use it on any computer, even while offline (like when on vacation or on an airplane).

However, QuickBooks Online may be a better fit for those who need a wide variety of online tools for their business.

A QuickBooks Online subscription covers all the basic accounting features that most small businesses need, and a Hosted QuickBooks Desktop subscription covers all of the different types of features that you might be interested in for QuickBooks Desktop (like inventory and payroll management solutions, point of sale offerings, etc.).
