But hold on, what about the candidates you have already invested in? Should you discourage your previously engaged candidates from hopping on the new application process? The answer as always: it depends. But, rather than being passive, any employer can take action to increase their engagement with candidates.

If you’re hiring a candidate to answer customer service calls, then you should list any special requirements that apply.

The posting should also include any special instructions that are needed to apply for the position.

Give Each Individual Job Its Own Web Page and Unique URL

Links in your job postings created by Indeed and job portals like Monster don’t work on their own. They count only after they are clicked on and the job seeker follows a link from the listing to your website to the job application page. Once the applicant is on your website and fills out an application, he is then ready take steps to complete the process.

So what you need to do, is create a page on your website for each job posting showing specific instructions on how to apply for the job. Then make sure each of your links to the Indeed job postings and job sites have a unique link and are listed separately on each job posting, and changed within the actual posting.

This may be a little extra work to hang around, but think of it this way. If you have 3 job listings, the recruiters coming to your website will need to be directed to 3 different pages. This means that if you want to have the maximum benefit from your job postings you should make each job page unique and distinctive and the job portal will be less likely to send the same person to 3 different pages.

Sprinkle Relevant Keywords Throughout Your Job Description

Hopefully you’ll land a few interviews with your free Indeed posting. The top questions candidates will ask include, “What did you do at your last job?” and “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” (You can find plenty of information on both in our post about how to answer these 2 questions.) So you need to sprinkle appropriate keywords throughout your job description, especially in your title and summary.

The title and summary should be 3 to 4 sentences. A keyword in the title maximizes your chances that it will appear in the job result area when a candidate searches on his or her smartphone.

You can find a send button in your job posting. Typically, the menu option will be found at the top, under –edit” or under –saving”. If you can’t find it, you won’t be able to submit a job to Indeed. In order to actually submit your resume to a job, you’ll have to add a submit button to the position.

{2}. Chat with a rep to delete your posting;
{3}. Download the Repost app from the Apple App store and then request that a job be deleted.

{1}. Click on the job posting that you want to delete.
{2}. Then click on My Account
{3}. Then click on Edit Job Details (this is where you can chose which public or private jobs you want to appear on Indeed)

And you are done. Job deleted!

{1}. Open the App Store and search for Indeed.
{2}. Tap on the Indeed icon and you will be prompted to sign in or create an account.
{3}. Once you have signed in, tap on My Account.
