How to Customize an Invoice in QuickBooks Online

{1}. Make sure you are in the Sales Tax window.
{2}. Click the Create button beside the Active Invoices drop down menu.
{3}. Under Sales Tax Code, click the drop down and select the type of invoice you want to create.

In the next screen, you can select an Existing Customer or Add New Customer and Income. You can also select how to invoice this customer. Once you select how you would like to invoice your customers, you can print the invoice in QuickBooks Online.
